Firstly, try to avoid things that will likely make it worse, like air-conditioning, dust and animals. All of the above may make the infection to get worse because the immune system has become much weaker.
Secondly, dose up on all of the good stuff, like oranges or vitamin c tablets, anti-oxidant teas such as green tea or lemon in hot water, maybe even try a dose of quercetin or olive leaf extract. These will all help to build the immune system to fight off the infection. If your throat is sore I would eat raw honey as it is ultra soothing. If your ears are sore I would opt for something like Traumeel drops that will not only soothe the aches, but will help with the inflammation. Traumeel drops can be taken orally too!
Thirdly, rest! I know it is really hard to do so when you have a million and one things on your plate, but if you even have 5 – 10 minutes to spare in your day, just lay down and recoup.
Hopefully all of my tips will help you combat the infection and the allergies. But we still need to prevent it from happening again, so I advise that you do what is necessary to prevent them from coming back:
Take a dosage of Vitamin C everyday.
Don’t forget to take your daily vitamins!
Try not to go to places that will trigger your allergies (dusty sites, air-conditioned shopping malls, or outside the dogs and cats).
Eat healthy! The more fruit and veggies your body gets, the stronger your immune system will be.
